Given that ethnic minority people in China do use polysyllabic last and given names, why can't we just live with the fact that we are foreigners and use polysyllabic nouns? Why is 2-syllable last name and a 3 syllable given name a problem?

Only a highly intelligent people would come up with this. It certain is more convenient.

The real question is why is that sound written as "xi" in the Latin alphabet when it'd be normally pronounced like in "toxic" or "boxing"

Xi is not the president. He is the chairman. Also China is not the representatives of Asia

It's good in the beginning, but after some time, you get these annoying "3 misstakes, and you can't play anymore unless you spent money." And generally, a lot of the additional content is locked behind a paywall as well, so you can only learn to a certain point for free. I think that is fair though, because a benefit of the app is that you will not get any ads at all, and the developers need to make money somehow.

I hit a paywall does anyone know any other apps similar to this besides duolingo
